starting point
We were born from a violence that was not the first and will not be the last. Honoring Dom’s legacy means acknowledging the pain and moving beyond it, understanding that his relationship with the Amazon is not limited to his murder. On the contrary, he immersed himself in the exuberance of the forest and listened to its people in order to show the world all the human, environmental and cultural diversity of the region. As an Institute, we are rooted in the same purpose: to echo the voices of the Amazon and the knowledge of its people and caregivers, promoting educational movements for the preservation of life.

We have chosen education as a tool to promote decolonized knowledge about and for the Amazon. We want to develop educational projects that start from the territory to the territory and also to the world, promoting spaces for collective construction and networking of the diverse knowledge and caretakers of the forest.
